Sunday comes late...

This is a picture of me (c.1997) taken in Key West, FL. while on vacation with my mother. We had a wonderful time sipping drinks (morning, noon and night!) shopping, and just hanging together. My son was only a few months old at the time and this was the first time I had been away from him. I remember wondering if I was a bad mother because I wanted to go on vacation. Seems so silly now...lol.

I was young, thin, had BIG hair and felt like a new chapter in my life was about to be written. Not long after returning from vacation, I came out of the closet to my family. In a sense, it really was a new beginning for me...

Great picture. Did you like Key West? Laura and I are going there in April. (we were suppose to go in Oct., but a hurricane changed our plans) How do your parents feel about you being gay? Are they supportive? Hope you are doing well..think of you often and hope you are doing ok.

I can't believe that you had a child a couple of months earlier. That's a great picture.

I agree with AKH, that is a great Picture. I agree with you on the silly things that we parents sometimes play back to ourselvs over and over again in our heads.

Take care

Chris

When can never be late for Photo Sunday!

I wonder how much that vacation really gave to you...if you were able to come out a few months after your return.

We Americans don't take vacations seriously enough.

So gorgeous and you do look very happy in this photo.

The fact that you were about to start a new chapter in your life really shows.

that's a great story and not too many mother/daughters get a chance to spend time together like that.
