A group of people I volunteer with are currently trying to get anti-discrimination amendment added to our city's Human Rights Ordinance. So far, the amendment support has been less than stellar (no surprise there)!
One of the local television stations has posted a poll on their website asking people's opinion about passing the amendment. If you wouldn't mind helping, please take a moment to visit their site and vote "YES"! We really need the help...
If you look on the right hand column of the main page http://www.wndu.com/index.php down toward the bottom, there's a poll asking: "Do you think a clause against sexual orientation discrimination should be added to the city code?"

- At age 41, overcoming some of my biggest fears has granted me periods in my life of supreme respect for the grand plan of the universe. Unfortunately, I’ve learned I have the idiotic ability to forget some of the huge lessons. Luckily, my cosmic fortune cookie never seems to mind having to repeatedly tell me things until I get it! My favorite foods include Easy Cheese, shelled & salted peanuts, red-pepper hummus and pizza in any form. I’ve realized I never really quit smoking; I just stop for periods of time. I no longer cry over spilled milk. I recently figured out that I do so much better when I’m not going in ten directions at once. I’ve also been hit with the realization that I’m never, ever going to find happiness outside of myself – it has to come from within. The true meaning of this came to me during meditation, at which point, I literally gave MYSELF a hug. Finally, I know if tomorrow comes then more change is inevitable and embracing is easier than resisting it.

Damn it, by the time I got there (seconds after reading your post), the poll had changed. However, it does seem from the results like you've won. I'm only saddened that the margin was so narrow.
I as well was a day late and a dollar short. I am glad the "yeas" won! Somehow I don't think they would a bit further west where I am!
